Three steps to staying warm in Iceland
A key element of traveling around Iceland and collecting sounds here is staying warm for as long as possible. Low temperatures accompany us on the island practically all year round (even in summer, it rarely reaches double digits), as does the ever-present wind. I work with field recordings – traveling across the island and exploring its most remote corners, even underground in lava caves. I also climb volcanoes – including those that are erupting. All of this is to capture sounds with my microphone and show people what Iceland truly sounds like.
How to clean the Fjord Nansen Honer thermos?
We do not recommend washing any parts of the thermos in a dishwasher – neither the cap nor the cup – as they are not designed for it, and the interior of the thermos will not be thoroughly cleaned.
Cup and cap: wash by hand using regular dish soap.
Thermos interior: clean with a bottle brush.
Refreshing the interior: from time to time, you can rinse the thermos with lemon juice, leave it for a few hours, and then rinse thoroughly with water.
This cleaning method ensures long-lasting hygiene and preserves the thermos’s performance.
