Sleeping bags

The most important features:

  • The main difference between a top quilt and a normal sleeping bag is the lack of a hood and insulation on the back, which means that we do not crush the insulation while sleeping. Additionally, the down that is normally on the back in the sleeping bag is on the front and sides in ARRAN, so the insulation is used more effectively
  • The perfect sleeping bag for spring
  • Size adapted for people up to 195 cm tall,
  • Filling – European duck down and feathers in 92/8 proportions, covered with a hydrophobic coating,
  • Filling elasticity – 800 cuin
  • Both inside and outside, the Nylon 10D RIPSTOP WR fabric (Water Repellent – with hydrophobic properties) was used. A special coating ensures difficult moisture penetration. Thanks to the RIPSTOP technology, the material gains even greater durability. Nylon 10D is even thinner and lighter than Nylon 20D.
  • The zipper is centrally located and opens from the top. Due to the construction – it is not possible to connect it to a second sleeping bag,
  • Anti-Bite System – on both sides of the zipper, the material is sewn in a way that prevents it from cutting into the zipper.
  • Drawstring – made of rubber, allows for smooth adjustment of the circumference of the upper part of the sleeping bag
  • A small pocket inside the sleeping bag – created so that you can hide all your valuable items in it
  • Footbox in the form of a drawstring – thanks to it, without leaving the sleeping bag, you can easily increase air circulation or easily jump into the sleeping bag and warm up during a nap, without taking off your shoes,
  • The detachable footbed allows it to be laid flat, which increases its versatility
  • Quilt is equipped with rubber straps with buckles that can be used to attach it to a mat/mattress, thus creating a compact, but at the same time very comfortable and comfortable sleeping system.
  • The straps are rubber and adjustable and can be placed on or under the mattress.
  • H-shaped chamber design – Arran has vertically divided chambers, which eliminates the effect of down escaping sideways during sleep. Particularly useful for people who sleep on their sides and move around a lot.
  • Compression bag included – thanks to it you will save additional space in your luggage,
  • Fluorescent puller, so you can find it easily even at night,
  • Insulating the feet with an additional layer of down for comfort and keeping warm during sleep,

Technology:

DOWN

The ARRAN 270 down quilt is made with Polish duck filling. The feather down content is 92/8 and the elasticity is 800 cuin. We also have to boast – we fill our sleeping bags in Poland!

HYDROPHOBICITY

The down we filled this sleeping bag with was protected against moisture with a special hydrophobic coating using a DuPont preparation.

FOOTBOX

Footbox in the form of a drawstring, thanks to which you can move around the camp without leaving the sleeping bag, easily increase air circulation or easily jump into the sleeping bag and warm up during a nap, without taking off your shoes.

FOOTBED

The detachable footbed allows it to be laid flat, which increases its versatility

Description

The thermal parameters of this sleeping bag were estimated based on tests of 9 different models of Fjord Nansen sleeping bags in the laboratory. Therefore, you can rely on our recommended temperatures.

Temperature range:

Note: the name includes T lim – this is the lowest temperature at which a “standard man” can sleep comfortably. Women or people who get cold easily should take into account the T comfort thermal parameter when choosing a sleeping bag.

Temperature ranges according to the EN 23537 standard – they refer to a standard man and a standard woman after medium exercise.

ATTENTION! Sometimes it may happen that the feeling of cold will be different for different people. The way we feel cold is also influenced by factors such as fatigue, hunger, malaise, previous hypothermia, age, metabolism, thickness of fat tissue, etc.

Upper comfort limit (T max) – the temperature at which a “standard man” does not sweat and excessive temperature does not disturb his sleep.
Comfort (T comf) – the temperature at which a person is in thermal equilibrium and does not feel cold. This value refers to a “standard”, well-fed woman after moderate exercise. Women should consider this parameter when choosing a sleeping bag.
Limit Temperature (T lim) – The lowest temperature at which a “standard man” can sleep comfortably. Men should take this parameter into account when choosing a sleeping bag.
Extreme temperature (T min) – exceeding this value causes the risk of hypothermia and means conditions in which you can survive for a maximum of six hours (a parameter based on the feelings of the “average woman”). This temperature should not be taken into account when purchasing a sleeping bag.
